Annie Lennox also performed it with David Bowie in 1992 at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. This energetic arrangement includes two soloists, with specific vocal indications to emulate Mercury and Bowie. Get your audience involved with the body percussion (finger snaps and hand claps)! One of Queen’s earliest hits (1976) by Freddie Mercury, from the album A DAY AT THE RACES, Somebody to Love features complex gospel-style harmonies and rhythms. This arrangement is the real deal, mimicking closely Queen’s original harmonies. The soloist needs Mercury’s vocal range; TTBB choral parts includes an optional counter-tenor line, which can be covered by a small group of voices in falsetto (or young males singing treble). Accompaniment includes 5-piece rock band, including Brian May’s classic guitar solo licks.

It was released as a single just weeks before he died, and then Elton John performed it live with Queen in 1992 at a Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.
