The opener, "Persecution", is exactly as it sounds. The front ensemble takes the opening. Then, low winds develop the theme, and BAM!! A wall-of-sound hits around 40 seconds in! …… As the battery leads us into the Persecution section, the audience can easily understand that our Cinderella is being maltreated by her step mother and step sisters. This leads up to a huge hit point at ms. 53. The battery has their moment, and the movement ends with a huge statement that all is not well in Cindi's house! But, she WILL make it to the ball. Give her time! :-) Enjoy the opening to Cinderella!

In Joe Murphy's movement II of "Cinderella", the music begins with our lovely Cindi singing with her animal friends, and longing of a life of love. It DOES exist! She is about to find out. … After a wonderfully gallant moment with her forest friends, Cindi meets her fairy godmother. …. Fairy Godmother helps Cindi get prepared for the ball in a spectacular way, including all of her forest friends. This movement has a woodwind feature, a mallet feature, and a brass feature leading up to a wonderful section where the ball dress is revealed! At the close of this movement, Cindi is introduced at the ball to a glorious fanfare. And yes, she DOES meet the prince!

This is movement III of "Cinderella", an original work by Joe Murphy. ….. In this movement, Cindi is introduced at the ball, meets the prince and has the dance of her life! This is where Cinderella learns what true love is. This movement starts as a waltz, and builds to a wonderful wall-of-sound from the winds! The climax of this fortissimo phrase leads to a kiss between Cindi and the Prince! This movement is written as a flugelhorn feature. It can also easily be done on the trumpet. The end of this beautifully romantic movement ends in an ominous tone, as Cindi realizes that the clock is about to strike midnight!

Welcome to Movement IV of "Cinderella"! …. At this point, the prince and Cindi have had their dance. Cindi has to run away, because the clock begins to strike midnight and her time has run out! …… The Chase begins!! The Prince has the glass slipper in hand, and charges his best men with assisting him in finding Cinderella! Well…. After over 300 years, we all know that the Prince finds Cindi! He does, and they marry and "live happily ever after"! The movement ends as you think it should! It closes with a huge statement from the ensemble. Goose Bumps and Throwing Babies abound!!! You will love this show. Your kids will love this show. Judges will love this show. And, audiences will absolutely LOVE this show! This ain't your grandma's Claire de Lune!! This is written as an opener. It starts out quiet with the front ensemble. Tempo is 156bpm. It builds adding low voices, then middle voices, and increasing in melodic motion. After about 40 seconds of development.... BAM!!! Full ensemble at fortissimo to the melody of Clair, marching halftime. 78bpm. This opener has many devices that judges are looking for. Small ensemble, tutti ensemble, woodwind feature, front ensemble feature, etc... This will kick your show off on the right foot!! Or...left foot, as it were. Enjoy!

"Isle Of The Dead" is the opener to my show entitled, "Dante's Inferno". Obviously, it is based on Dante Alighieri's, "DIVINE COMEDY" completed in the year 1320. In his long, narrative poem, Dante describes his travels through Hell, Purgatory and Heaven. The opener is based on the tonalities from Rachmaninoff's "Isle Of The Dead". But, the rest of the show is completely original. … You could name the show, "Darkness Into Light", or "Angels and Demons", or however you'd like to describe your show. "Dante's Inferno" is very dark and powerful. Contrastingly, the closer (named "Jubilance and Exultation") is quite………..jubilant. :-) This show is chock-full of incredibly loud walls-of-sound, ultra-quiet moments, section features, soloists, and a vast range of colors within the ensemble. Your colorguard will love this show! SO many opportunities for them. The other movements are entitled, "Waltz of the Dead", "Alighieri's Perdition", and "Jubilance and Exultation". "Waltz of the Undead" is movement 2 to my original show "Dante's Inferno". … The title pretty much says it all. It's like a darker, more sinister, dance macabre. :-) Great opportunities for your colorguard and your low brass, here! There is also a super-fun woodwind ensemble feature! "Alighieri's Perdition" is movement 3 to my original show "Dante's Inferno". … After traveling through Hell and Purgatory, Dante is reacquainted with his "ideal woman", Beatrice. She takes him, and walks him through Heaven. The beginning of this ballad is dark and ominous. After a brief woodwind featurette, a mellophone trio (or solo, if you choose) takes the lead. …… The ballad stays minor until the 1:00 mark, when Dante sees Beatrice. NOTE: The fermata chord at the 1 minute mark, is the first major chord in the show. This is where "Good triumphs over Evil", "The Light outshines the Darkness", "Hope conquers Fear", "Love conquers Hate"………You get the idea. :-) From this point on, the show is in major keys, with glorious motion, colors and power! Enjoy - "Alighieri's Perdition"!

"Jubilance and Exultation" is movement 4, and the closer, to my original show "Dante's Inferno". … As the title suggests, it is a joyous triumph of Good over Evil! Your audience will be on their feet at the end of this show! Your students will not get tired of performing "Dante's Inferno". This music will stay fresh all season long. “Don’t Stop Me Now” was recorded by Queen and featured on their 1978 single album entitled “Jazz.” “Don’t Stop Me Now” reached number 9 in the UK charts but only number 86 in the US; as the album was a top-10 hit, the song got some airplay on U.S. album-oriented rock stations despite its low chart ranking as a single. Over the years, its popularity has increased. In 2014, it was even voted third-best Queen song by the readers of The Rolling Stone. This marching band arrangement begins with a front-ensemble feature and a trumpet duet feature. The piece transitions to an upbeat driving pulse featuring low brass, woodwinds, front ensemble. The accompanying drill must allow the wind players to have a clear view of a drum major at all times so tempo is consistent. The piece transitions into a very large and powerful full-band hit section. The drumline parts are intermediate, featuring a 5-drum bass drum setup along with traditional quads & snare drums. Stickings must be learned and performed as written, and if requested... a 3 and 4 bass drum score can be provided. Who DOESN'T love The Planets??!! Gustav Holst had no idea that not only would his magnificent work inspire audiences for a century, but it would also inspire composers like John Williams who would change movie scores forever. This is the Opener to a 4 movement show that has won many awards. It is everything you want The Planets to be. My take on Mars has a very light opening with only ethereal mallets. Then, the theme enters quietly, and develops into what we all love about Mars!! Edward Freytag penned the mallets on this charts. If you don't know who Edward is, search "The Rudimental Cookbook". This is Movement 3 of my "The Planets" show. This movement has the standard Jupiter intro section leading into the ballad of Jupiter. The ballad section features a full woodwind section, then a brass feature, then the full tutti section leading up to the big fermata in Jupiter. This arrangement is two minutes and 30 seconds long, and it segues straight into the fast closing section of Jupiter (which is my movement 4 on this site). Enjoy!

"United We Stand, Divided We Fall" is a show about the unity a nation and its also about the division a nation can have, but in the end we all stand together. This is the opener for the show.

This arrangement for marching Brass Ensemble (3 trumpet parts, 2 mellophone parts, 3 baritone parts, 1 tuba part) take the melody from Yankee Doodle and presents it in several theme and variations. These settings include a chorale introduction, a mixed meter version, a Russian-cossack variation, and a swing setting. Lots of fun and very effective!

This is a great, high energy arrangement that your students will love to play! It features a nice mellophone solo as well as an extended full percussion section feature. The chart would be a really exciting closer to any marching band show!
